Question ? about K10 frontend finishes

Does anyone know how the factory finished the front ends of the '71 K10's?I know the leaf springs and tie rod were natural steel. Were the steering Knuckles also natural or were they painted black? How about things like U-bolts,spring plates, castle nuts and stuff like that? Was the finish paint, plated or natural? Did they apply any chalk marks or inspection marks? Also, the stop bolts on the rear side of the knuckles on my truck are welded on.Was this factory or P.O.? I'm in the process of a frame off and I'd like to be correct.Thanks.
Patrick
