91 Chevy 4x4

I paused work on my 67 project to take on a quick project that was my father in law's old truck. 1991 Chevy 4x4 with less than 130,000 original miles on it.

Truck needed some TLC and ended up replacing all the front brakes: hoses, calipers, pads and rotors. Front sway bar bushings were long gone as well.

Tie rod ends, idler arm, front end alignment and new tires. Changed the oil, cleaned her up and delivered her to my sister in law's yesterday for her daughter to drive. She is the oldest grand daughter and wanted the old truck.

I'm glad that she wanted it and is keeping it in the family. It looks like it's in nice condition.

Re: 91 Chevy 4x4

I was totally shocked at the lack of rust. The truck has had one of those plastic bed liners since new and I pulled it out to clean out from under it and the bed is pristine underneath with just a bit of paint wear. Other than the typical GM paint rejection the old truck was solid. Just suffered from not making more than the 3 mile trip to the hardware store it's last 6-8 years. The more I drove it the more it seemed to come back alive.

I wouldn't have minded keeping it but the 2012 Impala listed in my signature was my father in laws as well and my wife decided instead of selling it she wanted to drive it a while. The grand daughter knows if she decides she wants to part with the truck I get first right of refusal though.
