I got them from board member jurrassic1. Thier Goodmark pieces. They look good and I'm sure they be fine. I'm going with a wood bed so the flange holes will be no problem.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks and yes it does hurt my bank too. But I didn't know when I got to doing the truck as a 68 GMC (which is what it originally is) that things are specific to the year. Like grille, tailgate, hubcaps. The tailgate and hubcaps together cost me 1000.00. I wanted to make it look plane jane. I already have a chrome front bumper so I will have both chrome bumpers, grille and the hubcaps. No other chrome other than the door handles of course.. I'm wanting it to warm up so I can push her outside and do some hole welding (mirrors), and the gas fill will be welded up.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

none. I like it on trucks but not the look I want with this one. I did a Cheyenne Super before and new trim was expensive too. I've had my fill of aluminum trim you could say. (for now) tomorrow may be different though lol

I got my NOS GMC hubcaps today. I thought that they would be in better shape but what can you expect from 42 yrs old. I got all the pushed in spots out of them and now they look as good as I do. LOL I'm 42 too.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Got some welding done today. The extra mirror holes on each door and the c10 holes on the fenders and the chevrolet letter holes on the hood. I still have to weld up the gas fill hole too. Also welded up my western flyers seat post. much more comfy.

I also got a e brake cover from a board member. I think I want to use stock mirror arms and cut them down and move them forward. I just need to find some now.

GMC guys might not like it though. I have some mirror brackets coming from a board member so I'll try my mod on them.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks Trai.

I got some mirror arms in and I don't remember them being this short. I had planned to move them forward after shortening the arms but I think I'll just leave them as is.

Years ago I ordered some stainless ones for a 69 GMC I had and they were long imo. They were also useless as the mirror head shook so much going down the road you couldn't see anything out of them. So I hope these are better.

I also got some 68 jack hardware out of a truck but I'm clueless as to what each pieces function is so I'll post a thread on it.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I think its for your seat slider so you can pull the lever to move the seat forward or back and it unlatches from the other side.
