Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Looks good.....I also used an automotive clear to seal the stained bed wood on my old 48 truck. It held up great for years.

Also like the hidden fastener strips that you are using. I'm planning on using them also, still need to plug weld some (thinking ) 3/8 x 3 bolts in the cross members to eliminate the bed through frame washer bolts.
Bam thanks for documenting your outstanding truck build. Your craftsmanship is top notch !!!
Thanks

No problem man thats why we are here to share. Thanks for the compliments I really appreciate it.

Yeah I'm Leaning towards it, I doing my research it looks like automotive clear or Marine Varnish.

Great work on the metal work on the bed and the wood for the floor Bam! Where did you source the hidden fastener strips? I got some from a place and they were no Bueno.

Thanks for the compliments. As far as the hidden bed strips I got them from Speedway Motors. This is the Universal Kit 7 80 inches long strips with hidden fasteners. I like them because I knew I was doping fab bed wood and I had to cut them any way.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

I hear ya Bam. I just spent a whack of time and effort getting my truck box modified for the new use, raised the floor etc. etc. I am pretty sure in my case I COULD have built a new one quicker. lol. spent lots of time fixing and figuring out how to incorporate all the stuff I wanted to have. that's probably the problem right there actually. but next time...….
yours looks great though. nice to be down to the last coat of primer isn't it?
