The last time I talked to him he still had it. I sort of got over it as he didnt want to deal too much. Focused on the money he put into it 8 years ago before he parked it.

With the rust issues 3500 just too far out of my ball park.

I have no idea if he still has it or not.

I'm still hoping that someday he will come down and play in my ball park. You should see the actual rust on the cab. The photos look bad but it is pretty much worse. I'm talking take the cab off the chassis and do what Heart Rod did and hope there is enough in some areas to patch or quickly learn how to put a new roof, or floor on. Remember many of these parts are not avaliable so get the fab work going.... ( just me ranting about it a bit.)

I offerred 1500 but he said not just no but HELL NO!

Wow, I have never seen these before but it's cool to see them. Kinda ugly but also kinda cool. Funny how they were so utilitarian and practical that they just used the same doors for the rear and did not bother making new rear doors that looked correct. Guess it would be lots more expensive to make new unique rear doors, and glass, etc. Learn something new everyday.

Re: 69 Chevy 4 Door EX Rail Road Truck Located

I grew up in a North Missouri town called Moberly, MO, which was a Wabash & later Norfolk & Western railroad terminal of switching yards & roundhouse / locomotive & wrecked-cars repair shop / train embarkation point, and I remember seeing several of these huge rigs running around that area for years, hauling trainmen & repair crews.

The guy's story about "only 52 of these built" gets my BS alarm to ringing. I personally think they (Scott-Bilt) probably built all of them they could sell, myself.

I worked the summer I graduated high school on a track repair crew for N&W & have ridden in some of these rigs. Uncomfortable. No AC. Huge blind spots at the door triangle.

Like most anything from the '60's, they weren't all that "rare" at the time, but now ........... Hen's teeth.

I'd guess most of them just got "used hard, used up & scrapped out."

I have been thinking lately, and I really would like to find one of these once my blazer is on the road, or I might even trade my blazer for one.
