Re: Finally goin somewhere 68 field find full Porterbuilt

Thanks again for all the compliments. I plan to take this on next years power tour. We saw one truck last year with porter built suspension and I was sold! All the stuff is top notch and can't wait for this thing to be goin.

Re: Finally goin somewhere 68 field find full Porterbuilt

We were able to get 2011 5.3/6l80 installed today(planned to do new lt1 but after doin some research didn't want any headaches)Porterbuilt must of made the ls1 mounts for car intakes and 4l60's. The motor mounts have to bee shortened 2in to clear intake to cowl. Blower goin on tomorrow. The 6l80 is a lot bigger then the 60's I usually install. Looks like a high hump tunnel will cover most of the opening.

Man that looks like a big tranny. Whats the reason for going with a 80?

Re: Finally goin somewhere 68 field find full Porterbuilt

The 2011 5.3 pull out came with 6l80. Goin to modify porter built frame mounts and made a tranny mount should work out good. Probably have to find some cup holders to mount on the case of the tranny or use it as an arm rest though.

Re: Finally goin somewhere 68 field find full Porterbuilt

I really envy you guys that can find these cool trucks and accomplish the build in a short period of time. It takes me all weekend to install one crossmember and then change my mind 100x during the build process.

Truck has 3/4in body drop so it looks farther back. It is mounted with 1in set back plates. We actually modified the porterbuilt mounts to lower it farther. Most of these porterbuilt trucks all run car intakes. I really like the look of truck intake in these c10's.
