Re: What Radio Station do you like?
Say what? I like EAR PHONES on my DRUMS and what again? Crank that stereo up, my ex. complained about it in the car, it's why we're divorced
I use my IPOD really, everything on there that's supposed to be. That said this is cool as heck and every song on HPR1 Traditional Classic Country is nice and reminds me that no, my little collection is never done, especially country. http://radio.garden/listen/hpr1-trad...untry/EodUuzsV

Re: What Radio Station do you like?
So dating myself a bit but in the mid-70's there was a AM radio station that here in central MN we couldn't pick it up after about 10 PM?. I remember on the classic plays was "I want to be hooker on Beaker Street".
Do you folks from that time and location recall? |

Mid 70s the stations played say traditional, soft, top 40 & that, so we were well protected against the of rock & blues. Gal once asked me if I liked the song Stairway to Heaven. I said I guess Neil Sadaka is alright Not a big fan of Zeppelin's tune either. To well over-played and not close most of their tunes, IMO. I'll be 60 December. Can't believe it really, I have no complaints, just a little dumber is all. Celebrating my 60th year finishing my truck for her 50th.

Re: What Radio Station do you like?
Our classic rock station now is to me is like chewing an old piece of tasteless chewing gum. I've heard all these songs a bazillion times.
I stream a roots rock station off of Prairie Public Radio that comes out of Grand Forks ND. They have a great host, Mike Olson who has a segment in the morning and in the afternoon. He plays everything from folk to old time country to blues and jazz. You never know what he will be playing and if you don't like what's on, it will go in a new direction in a few minutes. Olson also adds a lot of great insight.

Re: What Radio Station do you like?
I mis-spoke above. The radio station was out of Little Rock? I think it was called Beaker Street. Another one was an AM station out of Chicago that again until maybe 8 PM we couldn't pick up.

Re: What Radio Station do you like?
I switch back and forth between classic rock and older country. The source just depends on where I happen to be.
I had a docking station that I plugged my Phone into at work. Back when I had unlimited data through Verizon, I listened to "Outlaw Country" on Pandora. After I gave up on them, I switched carriers and got a different phone. The old one stayed in that docking station all the time and just played about 1500 songs on shuffle....until the fire killed it. Back before Sirius and XM merged, there was a station on Sirius called Buzzsaw. I listened to it quite a bit, sometimes "Classic Rewind" or "Classic Vinyl". They dropped Buzzsaw in the merge and I never renewed my subscription. I'm pretty much down to a classic rock station that I grew up with now in the truck and Youtube at home. That station (QFM96) came on the air in '77 playing the popular rock of that time. They called themselves "album oriented rock" and as such, they played more than just the singles of the well known bands. The funny thing is, over the years they transitioned to "classic rock" and kept playing the same songs/bands. Now they call themselves "Iconic rock" and still play the same stuff. There probably aren't too many stations out there playing the same music for 45+ years or people who still live in the same place to listen to it?

Re: What Radio Station do you like?
That is a cool site. I dont listen to local radio anymore. Too much crap and commercials. I did XM for a few years till they priced me out of the market. Now all my music is on a flash drive connected to the radio in my truck. It takes me a couple of months to listen to it all. Its worked really well for me.
