Re: Blazer SPID thread?
my new to me Jimmy. The guy I bought it from said it was a 1971, and he titled it as such, but decoding the VIN, I think it's a 1972...

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Here are some photos of a 1972 Cheyenne Super "Sportbird" shortbox I am restoring. Interesting to note they only applied the decals to the hood, tailgate and the glovebox.

Nice options. Gold vinyl trim with Hugger Orange paint. That's different. Not seen that combination before.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Ttt...interesting pattern emerging. Looks like St Louis may have built all 1969 and 1970 MY K5s with Flint coming online late in the 1971 MY then ramped up for 72. I wonder if the 1971 MY Flint examples had provisions for both style tops as was the case for 1972.

Here's a SPID from a tow hook equipped 72 CST I completely bumbled upon in the back of an auto parts place while on a recent trip to Wisconsin...

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Probably a stupid question (I am best at these!); what is the significance of the tow hook equipped trucks?

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Not a stupid question. No significance other than this option is seldomly encountered and oddly wasn't listed as available on pickups with a chrome bumper though examples of the combo are documented.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
1970 Blazer invoice listing shoulder belts!! Sadly no longer present and the SPID pic is too tiny to decipher. This K5 is presently listed for sale on eBay.
