1K ACME primer

I went to my local NAPA store that sells the martin senour paint and talked to the paint person about the final paint I am going to use, the crossfire acrylic enamel single stage.

I asked what primer I should use before I lay the final top coat down, and this is what she recommended ACME FP405. My data sheet for my top coat states the properly prepped substrate of any crossfire surfacer or sealer.

I realize the ACME and Crossfire brand are part of Sherwin Williams, and the tech sheet of the primer states it can be top coated after the proper prep. Has anyone used this product?

Re: 1K ACME primer

1k products cure from evaporation of solvent only, there is no chemical crosslink. This means that the 1k primer will shrink more and have less solvent resistance, if you are spending the money to restore anything I would use a 2k product. There is a good 2k primer in the crossfire line that is not going to be that much more than the 1k and it will be more durable over the long run.
