My late ex father in law built a garage and if I remember correctly it was from the Sears catalog. It was like a kit. They dropped it off and he built it.

They used to sell houses that way.

Yep, that would be something to stumble on the old plans. My old home was built in 1928, a tudor, most solid home I've ever had, when wood was good, heavily grained, true to size if not slightly over. Miss having an old home.

Does your old 1928 catalog have pieces of real material to show to the women for their dresses choice?

I took wood shop and built things in the '60s and '70s. The growth rings between then and now are day and night. I've worked construction on much older buildings, and the wood we have now is nothing like what went into those old houses. I go to the Habitat ReStore to get old dressers and such to make projects from. That old wood is so much better than the stuff you can buy today.

Really no changes from my last pics in my build thread.
Life keeps getting in the way of the truck.
Trying to put my youngest boy through college and that takes most extra cash.
Hoping to get back on the truck when that settles down a bit.
Very frustrating walking past it in the garage and not being able to get it done.
Still going to paint it blue though.

Going into his second year so a ways to go yet.
Never know what might happen to make things easier though.

It took me 6-1/2 years to get my 4-year B Sc degree, but I was self-supporting. It helped that I had the GI Bill, but not that much.
