Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

Right on Gerhard
Looks like you are having so much fun

I had to laugh at your picture of the gas line
At David ‘s house

A little humor, And the back story
I’ve been to Germany quite a few times
Germans typically think they are the best engineers in the world
Gerhard was no different

When we were starting the BBQ for dinner, he asked
‘ where does the gas come from for the BBQ ?’
I said, Americans run it underground from the street
He was dumbfounded
‘ in Germany we have bottles !’
Yea, Gerhard, you are in the USA now

After dinner
I lit the fire pit
Gerhard? ‘How do you light that fire pit ? ‘
Well Gerhard, remember that gas line that runs underground from the street ? We put a T in it and ran it over to that valve

We just laughed and laughed
I think he said something to the effect
“ You American’s are pretty smart ‘

That is funny. I guess we shouldn't brag to our German Engineer that our underground natural gas is regulated by the Texas Railroad Commission, and every year they let the system get a little more decrepit, and every year one or two houses somewhere in the state blow up. The news crew comes by and ask the survivors what it was like and they usually say "well, I was sitting in the living room watching TV and the next thing I know I am on the front lawn with my pants on fire and I don't even know how I got there!" or something like that.

Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

It’s not fun for Americans, but for Germans it kind of like a novelty. They’re not very common in Germany.
I would compare it to going to any customer service counter in America. We don’t like dealing with it, but we can literally go in , get our money back with very little effort or hassle- try doing that in Germany...! Lol
The Customer Service agent will do anything and everything to keep you satisfied, and will offer many many other alternatives before issuing your refund. Many years ago my GF came to visit and she purchased some shoes that didn’t fit, so I told her we should return them but she didn’t want to deal with it, after a few minutes of talking, I took her and we were in and out... after that she says... “ is it always so easy..? Let’s go buy more sh*+ to take back..!” Lol

Some days chickens... some days feathers..! I love it..!!

Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

Well done lad, well done.

For the same reason I have visited a ORailly shop. I got a lot of bills in my car from o'Reilly and would like to see personally such a shop.

Everything just for fun. Leaving the comfort zone

Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

Welcome Louisiana, just passed the Sabine River.

By the way on my way to Harlingen a small turtle crossed the highway.

Happy that I was not underway with standard speed 136 mph.

So therefore I don't really know who was faster.
