Clean winch and bumper install

Its on a Blazer but obviously would work on any of our trucks. I liked the clean install, and the over all look is great. Not too in your face like a lot of big bumpers and winch combos. No idea whos ride it is. I probably saw it at Goodguys or something.

Still have my dads 8274 on my trailer going to put it back on the truck soon as i get her going again

Problem i found most winch bumpers are north of 2500 and the ones not have ugly laser cut branding

I dont mind diamond plate on top in snow mud ice gives more footing grip

Nothing like smashing your leg bad slipping because you climbed up to check something

I had a real beafy tube bumper on my 68 from dads 72 first winter i realised why he took it off for a stock bumper he scored

Yep, diamond plate has it's place. Then the world discovered it and it became overused. It's still right for it's intended purpose. I always placed the 71/72 turn signals behind the grille. They match the dimensions of 6 grille rectangles perfectly. I even cut a grille out to fit them in one truck many moons ago. Behind w/o cutting is best

I can find pictures of my '71 C/30 tow truck with push bumper with them behind the grille, upper/outer corners. I'm not sure they'll show. I cut out the grille on a K/20 I had because it had a lot of cracks from hitting a big bird. I may have an old print I've never scanned. I ended up putting in a '70 grille, thinking same as you said.

Looks great, the metal housing that mounts on top doesn't look to bad either for the directional lights, after all, it is a warn clone. That cowl hood fits darn nicely too, best I've ever seen with fender lines looking like that

Is this Cleskie's Blazer a good while back?

Different strokes, I guess. I think the signals are placed well, like he thought it out. On top would look like an after thought to me. Hidden hitches behind factory bumpers are cool, but this is about a traditionally mounted winch in a winch bumper that looks clean. I'm old school and like the traditional era-correct look. One day I want to make a Warn-looking bumper and do the same type of job. I 'want' the winch to be seen and I 'want' it mounted in a traditionally styled winch bumper

Here's what I did on mine. The bumper is a square body Warn. I made brackets to fit the 72. The parking/turn signals are LEDs behind the grill.

Yep, that's how Warn did it. That's why I think the under bumper is better thought out. Looks better, cleaner, being somewhat hidden and you get the full step for servicing under the hood.

Yes, just need to move forward a bit to compensate for the peaked nose of the '67-'72 compared to the flatter '73-'87. I recall being able to use existing holes in frame and only drilling one on each side

No the square body mounts are too short. They also put the bumper an inch and a half lower. I didn't like it below the grill. I mounted my lights behind the grill to protect them. The OP is under the bumper. I would be afraid they would get crushed or torn off.

How would you know? It's true, it wouldn't take much and those tiny bushes are not a concern from the driver seat. I've bent the tie-rod on a stump that was just a bit too tall that I did not see. But, if plate steel hoops surrounded them the worst likely damage would be a broken lens. Look at the rear on some many trucks and trailers and you'll see many that are surrounded by steel that makes the light recessed

I am still wondering if this is Cleskie's Blazer before the camper and before he went to steel wheels. He's had it a long time and it once had 16.5 aluminum slots. He also has 8-lugs. I guess he drifted off to Instagram or other

I don't know who it belongs to or how old that pic is. It's one nice looking Blazer though.
