Kick Down on TH400

When is the switch for a th400 kickdown supposed to engage?
Is it right at WOT (wide open throttle)? Or at some point before WOT?

I bought a Lokar KD-2400HT72 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lok-kd-2400ht72

I'm trying to understand how it works, because it seems to me that it engages the switch well before WOT.

Mine engages just before the pedal hits the floor. There is usually some adjustment. OR you can elongate the mounting holes to give it some. Really thick carpet?

Thanks Kwmech,
I'm thinking its best to test drive and adjust until I like when it kicks down in relation to the pedal.

Suggest you run an inline fuse before the switch just in case a wire shorts out etc...

Another reason why I'm happy with my American Auto Wire harness. It comes with a fused wire meant for the kick down.
