Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual

I'm new to the site and love it. I purchased my truck from Ebay about 3 years ago - an actual AZ truck with only surface rust. started on the tear down in August. here are few pictures - wish me luck..

It looks Killer!
I was thinking of that same combo, any thoughts on where or how that shifter is going to be inside. Guess running buckets is the only option.

Still looks Cool.... and Good Luck!

You'll have to keep us posted. I would really love a 6-speed in mine, and have been wondering how big of a project it is.

There's a kit to move the shifter forward about 5-6 inches, somebody here did a great write-up on it.

Hey trkfrk, Welcome to the board. Looks like a great build you have going, I'm doing a very similar build, exception is I'm using an LT-1 with 6 speed. Planning on using late model silverado buckets with integrated shoulder belts. Below are some links I found this week on manual/6 speed installations, one even from another forum about our trucks that includes lots of info. Keep the pics coming and good luck.

Not sure if there are any C10 clubs.... I was trying to get some Pro-Touring types to meet the last Saturday of every month... Mostly Chevelle guys... We did good for a few months... then it just got too hot ... So I havent tried to keep it going.... It was at the Red Rock Casino .. Where in Vegas are you?

I'm doing an LS3/T56 swap into my 67 Chevelle... not sure I can be any help as its still in progress....

I drove that combo in a Camaro; it was sweet. You going to freshen the motor?

Not right now. The motor has 64,000 miles and I purchased it with a 6 month warranty. After the build is complete I plan on some upgrades. One of the reasons I decided on the LS1 is the availibility of aftermarket parts - Its endless..

I did the same swap in my truck. Let me know if you run into any problems. What kind of engine mounts, fuel tank, harness, etc... are you going to use?

What kind of seat and did you use the front or rear shifter mounting location in your truck?

Thanks,
Justin
