Your truck is looking really good. What size front tire are you running. And how does the blown big block sound?

215/70R15 tires on the front. Motor sounds goooood! Jones two chambered mufflers with 3" exhaust dumped in front of rear axle.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!

I noticed you did some header work after you painted them, around the steering. Do you have any pictures of that.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the header mods. I started with a set of BBC fenderwell headers for a 55 Chevy. I had to cut them at the head flange and raise them and then cut and angle both collectors. Probably would have been better off to start from scratch.

Got the OEM bedsides sandblasted on the inside and ready for epoxy primer. Also put a finish on the bed wood awhile ago.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!

Any chance you posted pictures or a how to anywhere on the web about how you did your tach and gauge panel with the stars and stripes? Tach looks like a Garlits version. I have a couple of old tachs and would love to try that paint job out myself.

Thought you might like a picture of one part of my shop. Pic from back when I first did it. I put the covers on sort of like a craft person does Mod Podge. I used water thinned Elmers Glue. Shops a huge mess now

Love the wall!! I use to sell the Red White & Blue Decal Kits for the Big Daddy Garlits Tach a few years ago. I also use to sell a Red White & Blue Mooneyes Tach too, probably did 300 over the years. The Tach in my truck is a Pro Racing Tach. The Garlits Tach Decal kits that someone is selling on ebay isn't even close to a real thing, just doesn't look right.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!

Its been a long time since the started work on this truck. I'm glad its done and plan to have it on the road next spring. I think it turned out pretty good, my body work could have been better ( low spots show under paint ) but hey I'm one guy in a two car garage by myself.
