Re: Andys 68 c10

I had to replace the cowl on mine too, not a fun task. Mine didn’t fit well at all.

Mine fit well on the passenger side, the drivers side isnt as close, but nothing that a little hammering while hot wont fix, I'm glad a chose this part as the first to install, most of it wont be seen once it's all together!!!

Nice work Andy can’t believe you can get trucks that cheap. Even scrap trucks are doing 4-6 thousand uk pounds over here. Think you should send me some over to sell ha ha

Thanks dave.. it's been a fun project so far.. and it's only the beginning!!! I think the reason I got the original 72 so cheap was because it was a life long friend who had it, plus he was hard up...

Re: Andys 68 c10

So plans have changed for the motor and trans, another friend of mine has a 406 sitting, and a 400 turbo trans built to go with the motor, and a 2800 stall converter... should move the truck down the road nicely!!! Not sure why the trans pic is upside down...

Re: Andys 68 c10

Hate the fact that most of my pics come out sideways or upside down...

Anyway, made some progress today on the passengers side rocker and cab corner. Also test fit the doors and fender today.

Made some progress yesterday, got the passenger rocker tacked in, and cab corner on. Cab corner fit like crap.. hopefully the grinder will save me a little.

Your on the down hill run for this. Lots of work left but the time consuming Bodywork gets done and its smooth sailing after that.

Re: Andys 68 c10

Haven't really done much over the holiday.. it's been really cold here lately!!!

But what has happened, I found some more rust in the passenger side door jam up by the roof (dam mice)!! So I cut out and replaced that.. wasnt to bad... also been sanding all the 50 year old paint off, also do to the larger hp motor I'm putting in the truck I have decided to 4 link the rear with coil overs, and a complete new front end from no limit. I messaged rob with a bunch of questions and got response the same day!! . Also adding in a frame stiffening center section from porterbuilt.. a lot then I expected to do to the chassis but it seems that I might as well do it now vs wishing I did once it's all together. Just a little update
