HO52 Eaton No-spin in 4.10 vs 4.57

Ok guys so I need some info on the Eaton No-spin units. I currently have a 4.56 rear gear in my HO52 with a No-Spin unit.

If I had a complete 4.10 gear 3rd member, can I simply remove the no-spin unit from my 4.56 3rd member and instal it in the new 4.10 third?

I've been told by my local shop that they would be different and that it wouldn't work like that because the carriers are different. But I thought all no-spin units were the same for these trucks and the gear ratio didn't matter.

So I need to know once and for all... are the no-spins specific to different gear ratios? Or are they all the same unit and will work with whatever gear ratio you have?

Anyone able to clear this up for me?

Thanks!!

4.10 and down vs 4.56 and up should be a different part number. Go to the Eaton site and lookup the applications for the Detroit lockers.

The No-spin unit it's self is the same no matter what gear ratio you have. The actual carrier may be different from ratio to ratio, but the No-spin goes in side the carrier.
