Post points ignition to hei

Hey people, I hope everyone had agreat weekend. I have a question and if it has already been posted and you don't want to bother going over it again just tell me how to get to the prev. posting. I would like to get rid of my points and external coil and go with an HEI and was wondering how you wire the change. If it makes a difference I have a 69 3-door with a 327. Hope everyone has a good monday. Jason,

Pull old ditributor, and install new one. They go in the exact same.
Yellow wire to starter...get rid of it. snip it, unbolt it, what ever.
White wire from resister...snip it.
Run a 10 or so guage wire from the extra 'ign unfused' spot on your fuse box, and run it out to the cap. Look in the top of the cap, it'll say tach and then power or something like that. Wire it uup to the power (non-tach).
Install the propewr wires, set timing, put in fresh plugs gapped at about .45... and have fun.

Tap into the original power wire to the coil BEFORE the resistor. that's the quickest and simplest. Don't run a wire from the unfused terminal on the fuse box. If that wire ever touches any metal, you can fry your wires and burn the truck down. Gotta have it fused somehow.

So pit a fuse in it some where. Plus, always use a grommet on the hole.
