Project 'Little Sister' - 1970 LWB Refresh

I've had this truck for a couple years in storage, just haven't had the time to work on it. It's a 1970 lwb c10, original 501 medium blue paint, 307/auto, set up originally for a camper. Mostly rust free, very original (just the way I like them).

The name 'Little Sister' is a reference to the 'Blue Bomb' project. Same year, same color original paint, and will get similar attention to detail.

Although being a fleetside half ton, some of the specific details will be like 'Vitamin C'...

Re: Project 'Little Sister' - 1970 LWB Refresh

I have been wanting to do a video documentary of this project. This is my first attempt at video editing. Let me know what you think, feedback would be appreciated. There's lots I want to improve (aka the video quality is really bad)...

Nice Video. I like it, when you talk to the camera. Lots of nice shots. I wonder how these camper were back then.

Re: Project 'Little Sister' - 1970 LWB Refresh

I spent some time today with CLR and 0000 steel wool. Got about half the truck done.

I also removed the rusty camper mirrors. Fortunately the original mirror arms are still there.

Re: Project 'Little Sister' - 1970 LWB Refresh

I'd like to polish it (the 0000 leaves a dull finish). I bought some jesscar correcting compound. Does anyone have a recommendation for a pad to rub it on? I would like to do it by hand if possible. I have a power tool with variable speed but I'm worried I'll burn through it.

Job well done!!!!
Glad to see that it at least has power steering!!!

I'm no expert, but using a foam pad might be easier...

Re: Project 'Little Sister' - 1970 LWB Refresh

The paint cleaned up nice. Good video, but it needs a midi version of "Smoke on the Water" in the background.
