Question Stepside bed???

Are stepside beds between 67-72 and 73-? any different besides the fenders?
Just wondering, since the tailgates look alike.

Just the stamping in the sides around the fender mounting surface.

Several differences, the fenders mount in different places, the bedside is shorter at the front (later model steps mount higher), the stake pocket on the front is shorter and the bolt holes for the lights are in different places on the rear stake pocket.

What Krue said, he should know as he has the one I converted. They can be made to work. It's not too bad, you just have to be ready for some metal work. If you can get one cheap enough it is definetly worth the effort.

Here is a link to the stuff in the FAQ section

Yeah Bill I am currently debating whether to swap my fron stake pockets onto the bedsides I got from you. Looks like a million spotwelds to drill out.

That is exactly why I left the 84's on there. Plus it matches the length of the rear ones. I think there is only an inch or two different in the length. Wasn't worth the work.

Hey you got the cab swapped over yet??

One bolt away from having the donor cab ready to come off. Then I get to climb a tree and hang a chain fall out of it. (Also known as a "hand chain hoist" for ya'll Yankees.)
