Re: whats next?

Make sure you check the rubber line that goes from the frame to the rear diff's hardline connection. Mine burst a few months ago (in the garage while I was test-pumping the brakes to check my taillights thank god). The rubber will dry-rot and crack over time. I had identical symptom as you only I was parked.

Re: whats next?

Yeah I would definately check the rear brake line had one burst on my truck.Luckly I have hydra-boost brakes(next best thing to air brakes)so it still stopped using the front brakes. Its a 14 dollar part so i would check it and if there is any sign of dameage replace it.

Re: whats next?

That would definetly make me suspect the MC. Glad you and the truck survived.

Re: whats next?

If your asking: what's next, how do I check my brakes? Change the MS, pull the rear wheels, inspect the shoes and drums, look for wear. Look at the wheel cylinders to see if the rubber on the edges looks dry rotted. On the disks, look at the rotors for sings of wear/gouging. Check the front brake hose for dry rotting/cracks, if there are ANY replace IMMEDIATELY, trust me, just do it. Look at all of the brake lines and inspect for rust, especially where they connect, they tend to rust at the back edge on the line where the bolt thingy is.

If your asking: what's going to break next on this POS, remember your truck is 35 years old, stuff breaks. Stuff also breaks on new cars too, but it costs 10 times more to fix it and you need 10 grand in computer equipment just to figure out what's wrong with the dang thing.
