Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

I wonder if they are 'redesigning' the wheel if they will 'redesign' the price as well???

The SouthEast Regional Manager confirmed with the higher ups that the price will remain the same. That was my second question after, "What the HE77 are these supposed to fit?"

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

I think that I will buy (I mean 'borrow') an auto zone brake rotor and dust cap and take it with me when I pick mine up........Knock the dust cap on the rotor and drop it in the wheel b4 I lay down my $$$$........then return the rotor & cap to the store. If it wont work that way, it just wont work.

^^^ That is exactly what I did. Except I am actually replacing the front brakes when I put on the drop spindles

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Are they retooling the whole line or just the 20's, I think I want to go with 18's all around

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

They are retooling the whole line. I am going with 18" as I pull a rather heavy ski boat on a regular occasion and don't want to risk "pinching" a tire on one of the rather questionable boat ramps that I use . From what I understand this lack of fitment isn't confined to the 5x5 crowd as they don't fit several other bolt patterns...i.e. vehicles with a bearing type front rotor seemed to be an issue across the board.

I will let everyone know as soon as I get a definite ETA.

Cheers,

Ed

Yes. Order at your own risk.
Many people on here have been doing the "leg work" to get correct info out to members like me.

The problem is with the wheels on the front rotors. If you don't mind running spacers on the front,... you will be fine. BUT,... the track width is already wider up front,... you're only going to make that issue worse.

I have a sort of off topic question. How hard would this finish be to replicate on a different wheel? (the color) And what would be the best way to apply it? (paint, powder coat, crayons, etc.)

Difficulty depends on your skills and equipment. Best medium would be powdercoat, IMHO.

I am absolutely positive that the 18" wheels are also being retooled! I am also going this route and have been in weekly contact with the South East Regional Manager for BOSS/American Eagle wheels and have been posting his updates here.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

^^^ wait until they get them out and we can confirm that they will fit without issue or at least minimal issue before we consider this. I have discussed this with some contacts that I have made, but I am not at liberty to sell anything on this site so I won't be the one to make the final offer. Let's just hope they will fit...this time

Satin black? I'd like to see someone bring out a different color. Consider that. Personally I think it would look good though.

Nothing new, still waiting! No new ETA, so I would still expect late Aug. or early Sept.

Breathe....

LOL. Keep me penciled in for a set of those gray ones. Also, if you know anyone with some Auburn tickets, let me know. I plan on going to a few games this year.

Nope...still no new info. I called yesterday, but the Regional Manager is in Puerto Rico at their warehouse there and won't be back until the beginning of next week. So, all I got from the warehouse manager is..."I don't know". Awesome
