Re: 1970 steering box-2wd vs 4wd

Woodbine??? Holy cow, I was just at Food Lion two hours ago, then ran up Woodbine Rd. to Gillis Falls to cut up my way.

On the boxes it's real easy. The 2wd box uses a nut to hold the pitman arm on the splined sector shaft. On the 4wd box the sector shaft is splined but fatter with no threads on the end. The pitman arm is held on by a nut and bolt across the end and the sector shaft is keyed for the bolt. Follow me? The 2wd box will have threads on the end and the 4wd won't. I hope this helps. I could grab a picture but I cut firewood all day and am in for the night.

Gotcha. I used to live in Daisy and my address was Woodbine, too. They call the shopping center Lisbon, but I think of anything north of I-70 as Woodbine. My adress is Mt. Airy but I'm in West Falls north of Harrisville. Nice to see a local on here.
