My wife likes clocks
They are scattered all over the house. She's going to have a fun morning.

Re: My wife likes clocks
That's funny
Hope she has fun. This reminds me when I was young going to Grandma's house, She had a clock in almost every room. Not just any clock; Grandfather, Grandmother Wall clocks and a cuckoo clock . Every hour they would chime and Make noise. Need I say not all at the same (time). .

Re: My wife likes clocks
I don't mind this switch because of work (School Buses) . More light to see the kids . However it means dark on both ends of the work day .

Re: My wife likes clocks
I had to get a new alarm clock last summer. I think my old one was from the '80s. Not only did it change by itself, we just had power go out last Thursday and when power came on the clock was set. What a pleasant surprise.

I don't get it. I wound my pocket watch back one hour and dropped it back into my vest pocket.

Re: My wife likes clocks
I bought a clock for the wife 15 years ago ,,been awhile since I bought a clock for our residence. it's one of those kind that the 1/2 the face turns around while it plays a tune and the turns back while it is playing ,, we got tired of it doing that a just now use it for time,
As for daylight savings time.. being retired does not bother me at all,,if it ever did..

Re: My wife likes clocks
That's funny! ^^^ Or is it pure genius?
When I see this title I think, "Good thing there are no typos" It's funny. I am all about the old stuff. Most everything I own and use is old, by choice. But when it comes to clocks I just want one that works. Modern and simple is ideal. The clock I got for my bedroom recently I chose mainly because it was one of the cheapest choices. It's made by Sony, should be good quality. It's a compact black 4" cube with orange display. I really like that guy! So simple and resets itself after an outage. It doesn't distract from the vintage stuff. Just a necessary bedroom component. My mom had given me a battery powered clock as a gift at some point. 12" round, white face, and very legible numbers. It hung in the kitchen and I could not only see it through the doorway from the living room, I could see it from the parlor, into the laundry room, and even poking my head into the back door was a straight shot to it. It was always nice to have one battery clock for outages. Well, it gave up the ghost and boy did I miss it. I was in such a habit of checking that clock I didn't stop looking at that spot on the wall for a very long time. Back in summer '13 I did flea market vending with my girlfriend. I somehow ended up, like another vendor laid it on me, with this packaged folksy cast iron hand-painted rooster clock. I like that old cast iron stuff that has had hand-painting done, but this is modern imported cheezy artsy. BUT... with nothing else to put up for a clock I now have that thing up there. Shoot, I can't read that cute little thing with my face on it! It's black with Roman numerals, I think painted gold, and the arms are scroll black things. The accent painting is a total distraction but mainly you can't see the arms anyway. I hate that stupid thing. All about being cute and worthless for function. But I am picky. I want something on my wall I like. The old one was just simple and functional. I need another like that. I always wanted the vintage cat clock with the eyes and tail that move, but my wife would say, "Your mother gave use that clock" and I realized it had to stay. If I can read a cat clock from my back door I'll keep that, but for now I need a cheap round clock. Does your wife want a rooster clock?

Re: My wife likes clocks
.
My Grandmother on my Mom's side was my favorite person growing up. She was wonderful. Her kids knew she was in love with the Bose Wave Radio but for some reason didn't give her one. One Christmas, after I had established myself... I did. When she passed, I received it from her estate... Best D@MN alarm clock money can buy! I now own two of them and they both require manual fiddling twice a year! -klb

Seriously Im a little upset because this isn't someone elses thread so I was able to get in on the joking too haha! Cant believe I set myself up for this … gahhh. Im going to start a new thread like this in the spring, but name it so there wont be anymore jokes at her expense. My wife likes Big Ben … I think everyone will understand better

Re: My wife likes clocks
My ex-wife really liked balls. She'd put on her evening gown and waltz the night away
