I have looked long and hard, but can not find the DC draw of dual OEM Chevy truck fans. I'm putting an OEM (2019) radiator fan assembly into my 72 C10 and need a fan relay system. I think AC Delco makes them for GM. Going through autocoolguy.com and they need the numbers??

Hard to say without a part number. Aftermarket fan data is much more available than OEM. I’d assume if they are dual fans they will be somewhere between 30 and 50 amps. Don’t use a relay though, use a variable speed controller(s). They a MUCH easier on your charging system, and last longer than a relay. I have dual Spal fans and they pull 23 amps each so I have 2 variable speed controllers.

Have you tried looking up what the fan fuse rating is?

I know they are PMW fans and I have a part # for ACDelco 13592144 which is the OEM part. I will wait till I get the fan assembly and see if there are any numbers on it or have my son use a multimeter and hook them up to a battery and see what the startup draw is and full on draw.

Make sure your alternator is rated for high enough amps. I have burned out an alternator before learning this little bit of info.

Using all OEM items. Engine is a 2018 L83 and I'm sure the alternator is a 150 amp unit.

Not to hijack your thread, but I'm interested to see how you install a 2019 radiator/fan assembly into your 72. I've looked at doing a similar install but with a 2006 radiator but they're too long to fit in the core support from my research.

No problem! My thought is to mount the 40" radiator to the two vertical supports facing the engine. Center to center is just about 40". I have 6" from the face of those supports to the water pump pulley. The radiator and fan assembly is 4", should have 2" clearance. I have moved the battery and will move the horns. In order to maximize air flow, I could cut the core support to open it up to the two front vertical imprints on the core. I will be getting the assembly Wednesday, put the two units together and see how they fit.

I can't imagine running those fans without relay/s. With all the controllers & switches that the current goes through, it would put an extreme load on them, besides voltage loss through all the circuits.

Always run fans with relays! Always. If you want the variable speed hook it up to trigger the relay.

ACDelco part # 13592144 is the OEM relay for this fan assembly. Chevy dealer says that there is only one relay to run both PWM fans. I've tried very hard to set it up as it came from factory. There is a 5 volt green trigger wire that turns the fans on from the ECU. System is set for variable speed fans.

Did some metal work on support core and temporarily installed it. It fits snug with about 1&1/2" clearance. Fan support was thicker than I thought. This fan assembly has Bosch motors and that is unusual in that I thought they would be AC Delco, but it did come out of an 2019 Chevy Silverado???

I'm not going to use the radiator but have been wondering if the AC condenser would work in a 67/72 truck? This pretty much say's it should. I think when I add the AC to my daughters truck I'll piece it together and use a late model condenser and stuff.

Thanks for the resizing. My son uploaded the pictures remotely from his computer and may not have realized that they were seen that big.
Been trying to get information from GM and Bosch on the OEM fan assembly and no one will give me the time of day! Now I find out that GM is suing Bosch over their fuel injectors on the Duramx engines. Just looking for two pieces of information, amp draw of the Bosch fan motors and purpose of small third wire to the motor.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
