I scored another!
I was over at my friends shop working on the 68 when another friend called me asked what I was doing. I told him where I was and he drove over to checkout the progress on the truck.
Well we got to talking and I told him my friend who owned the shop was selling stuff. He ended up buying about $200.00 worth of stuff. A motor stand, 4- 20' pieces of 3" angle iron and saw and cut off saw. I hauled the angle iron home for him and he handed me a original wood 2 spoke steering wheel. He and I had been talking about them on the phone a few weeks ago. He has 2 more hanging in his shop. I've already start working on it cleaning up the spokes.

You just gotta love generous people! You are the steering wheel magnet I guess! The same kind of thing happened to me yesterday! There are still some fine folks out there, giving the rest of us a lesson. Kingsolver72 hooked a brother up!!

My friend didn't give me any tools today but he did give me a 3 speed fully synchronized transmission for our trucks. He said he built it about 25-30 years ago for a guy and his wife wrecked it not long afterwards. he bought the truck for the motor & transmission but never used it. Been sitting in his shop all these years. I guess I need to clean it up.

Well I started on the steering wheel this afternoon. Took a break from the truck today. The gas bottle was out so I went and got it filled and did some yard work. While burning off leaves I put the putty in the wheel to dry.
Tomorrow it's suppose to rain all day so I may do some sanding on it. We will see.

Haven't done much on the truck are anything else last few days. Been sick along with my grandson Rhett. We had to take him to ER last night and sat with him until 3am. They gave him some stronger antibiotic and a Steroid shot he is acting much better today. I wished I would have asked for one to.
Hope to get back on the truck Friday.

I got the wheel sanded down and first coat on it. I have to do some more light sanding to blend the fixed area's into the rest but I think it will turn out great. You want ever know it was fixed.
