Re: sound system

Here is my glovebox radio. The bracket is an underdash radio bracket that I used upside down. It came free from Crutchfield with my radio. I bought a Pac IRx off Ebay so you can use the remote with the glovebox door shut.

Re: sound system

EROC, I just installed my son's CD player with that same underdash bracket in the glove box. It was $9.00 from Buy.com. That's were I got the Pioneer TS-X150 surface mount speakers. These are really good speakers and fit right under the seat. I've put them in my son's trucks and have a set for my wife's '63.

Re: sound system

Yes, I hand made the whole center console. It took me about 14 hours of cutting, gluing, installing the MDF, pad and vinyl. If you look close behind the drivers side armrest, by the seat belt fastener, you can the the sub woofer. The are installed back to back and fire out towards the seat. Thanks for the compliment.

Re: sound system

chevydog66

I like your console also but for future builds I would fire the subs at the floor with about 2.5 inches between the face of the sub and the floor!

Re: sound system

i bought a universal mount from circuit city for 20 bucks and then cuztomized it, it sticks out a fair amount but all my lady friends are small enough to sit in the middle. i drilled 2 holes under the heater controls and used 2 bolts to mount it, i also bought some puckboard from the lumber yard and made a custom lid for it to keep dust out of it. i took some pipe fittings and made a stabilizer bar going from the heater fan housing thing under the dash to the bottom and its nice and sturdy and my alpine deck looks nice in it. i'll get you some pics when i get out of school some time
