Interesting Story
Extra parts for my truck, bare with me on this i might get long winded
My dad had bought this new in 1967 and even at an early age of 7 years old i loved the looks of this truck. Well as the years went by and i moved away and finally bought a 68 which i no longer have, Shame on me. But i would go back and see my dad, off and on through the years and i would ask him if if is ever going to trade the old truck off and get a newer one, He said, this has been a great truck for me and it will make you a great truck when i am gone. Well in 2004 he had passed and My mom said it was his wish that i recieved the truck and all of his tools and stuff in his sheds and shop. Well one day i decided to bring the truck back home along with every thing else. Well I did'nt rember how much tool and parts dad had collected over the years. Well it was about 2 full truck loads of parts and tools. Well what my point is, I had just put a lot of this stuff on the shelfs and in cabinets in my shop in 2004 and when i decided last year to restore and make his truck a 4 wheel drive because the old 2 wheel frame was shot. I was tearing down the frame that i am putting under the body i was at the point of the rear axle and need brakes and bearrings wheel cylinders and so on. well i started to go to the parts store and get parts. And then i started to see what parts that i brought home from his house. Well i had all bearrings, brake shoes and wheel cylinders to redo the rearend. And so far on this job i have not had to buy one part for the engine or drive line. And the amount of tools that he had,and vehicle manuals is unbeliveable. I have a shelf almost 8 foot long with different years and makes of maunals. and the reason is he was a motorpool mechanic for 30 years for the military. But anyways sorry for carrying on. He just really loved his truck as well as i do now.

Re: Interesting Story
Because of your fathers impressive inventory, tools and love for the truck, it's no surprise it lasted this long in seemingly good condition. 4wd would be cool, but may I ask what is actually wrong with the frame that's under it?

Re: Interesting Story
Sweet truck and neat story. Seems a waste to change something that just needs to be freshened. There are plenty of 4wds out there to be bought if you want one. Just my opinion.

Re: Interesting Story
Well the frame that was under it was not that bad but rusted through on the trailing arms, but long gone now, but the real issue was i always wanted a 67 4 wheel drive but with disk brakes so i have redone a 72 frame. and the cab getting close to going on it. I will have power brakes, power sterring, and ac when i done. And i am changing the bed from a metal to the wood floor bed. Oh and tilt sterring and the tach dash
