Re: Shallow Mount Subs

I'll get some exact measurements in the morning, but I know without a doubt my box is less than 6" deep. The airspace is right at 1cu.ft. for each sub.

Re: Shallow Mount Subs

i just put in two 10" vmx cerwin vega subs in my boys truck. they use the long through tecnology.. they are rated at 600watt rms, they have a titanium spyder wich is what usally goes first on your subs to my understanding. they are 5 5/8" deep.. i hooked each one of them to a nitro bmw 486 amp. these amps are rated at 600watts rms mono based into 4 0hms. they rock.. my head is pownding from listening to them a half hour ago. by the way can subs make you go deaf?

oh ya by the way thats 5 5/8" mounting depth. you need at least another inch for the front of the speaker so this may not work for you. i was thinking mounting depth my bad.

Re: Shallow Mount Subs

5 5/8" moutning depth is not shallow...

4" is that MAX that could even be considered "shallow mount"

The Pioneer's that I have in my truck have about 3.5" mounting depth.

Re: Shallow Mount Subs

ya i can fit 6 1/2" but the smallest box i could find for sale was 7 3/4" even though according to pioneer the 10" sub has a 3" mounting depth. where did you guys get your boxes? or did you make them?

Re: Shallow Mount Subs

Just about any amp pushing <250 watts RMS will do fine.
