Re: Taking a road trip, 1987 V10 4X4 short step, about 2300 miles. What fluids....

Thanks, maybe we can meet up next spring/summer. Yep, headed back to TX, lots of work to do since I’ve been loafing in New England for a bit.

But definitely bring an extra fuel pump, or some line and a clicky clack electric pump. Cheap enough and I've had that bite me on road trips in old cars. The last road trip I took in my truck I flew down to SC and drove it back to Maine. I bought two sets of cheap sockets/ratchets off of Amazon (Stanley brand... honestly, I've used them to build my entire truck,) a set of screw drivers, and an adjustable wrench. Throw some basic wiring essentials in a box too. You'll have plenty of fuel stops to grab water and snacks along the way. I like to keep wheel bearings and seals and a small container of wheel bearing grease with me too.

Leaving Maine for the winter? Don't blame you. Hopefully next year is a little more normal and we can meet up next time you're in the north! Let me know if you need anything from up here while you're gone.
