Square body end years, trucks vs blazers , crew cabs, suburbans 4x4

What years did the square bodies end for trucks vs blazers and 4x4 and suburbans

I also asked here

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=789860

I found a nice, original paint Blazer 89-91 Ive been eye balling. Looks all original 'cept 4" lift and nice 10" wide aluminum rims and 33" tires . Im hoping the owner might sell it to me at a good price

Little research ive done , its a TB Fuel injected, computer ignition, 89-91 blazer. Think its a center bolt valve cover engine too. One piece rear seal SM Block? Did these have a 700r or 460r over drive trans?

Looks like this, Metalic dark grey with white two tone, Smaller tires, 4" springs, than this pic

.

Copying from wikipedia, which sounds correct, but I can't guarantee it...

final model year of production for the rounded-line(square body) trucks.

regular cab trucks in the US -- 1987
regular cab trucks in Mexico -- 1991
cab/chassis trucks -- 1989
crew cab trucks -- 1991
suburbans -- 1991
blazers -- 1991

One piece rear main and technically the transmission is a 4L60 but that is just a renamed 700R4. It is not computer shifted

Re: Square body end years, trucks vs blazers , crew cabs, suburbans 4x4

The vin will tell you the exact year. 89-91 used the same grill for the Silverado models like in the pic.

90-91's will have some unique items like an electric speedometer with 6 digit odometer. The 90-91's also have roof mounted 3 point seat belts for the rear seat passengers.

The auto trans 700r4 was renamed internally as the 4L60 (no "e") by 90. The "e" is what stands for the electronic control function which the 700r4/4L60 did not have.

Wiki is correct, except you could get a regular cab dual rear pickup through '88
