66 gmc

long time lurker. i recently bought a 66 gmc longbed big back window. its a franken truck. its got 6 lug front suspension with 3/4 ton springs. rear is a 3/4 ton rear end with suposedly 4:10 gears. i bought a swb frame from borris at street machinery to put the cab on. thinking of doing a 1/2 chevy 1/2 gmc truck. basicaly chevy grille and tailgate with gmc trim and dash. is that sacrilegious? gonna be a long fun journey.

Factory power brakes- cool.
It's your truck. Fix it like you want it.

Re: 66 gmc

I agree....build your truck the way you want it. When swapping frames, first make sure there will not be any legal issues with your local DMV regarding having a cab and frame with different VIN's.

Re: 66 gmc

been looking at it alot this weekend.think its gonna stay gmc. im thinking i might paint it the same color as my old 98 tacoma as a tribute to a truck that never got fin ished. i think the color would fit a c10 its called surfside mica green, with flat white bumpeers and grille

this is the color.

No reproduced GMC hoods. The Chevy hoods were just released not too long ago.

been slow working on the truck.been working alot of 12 hr days to finance our basement remodel. been buying some parts for it off n on. i bought a set of rocckers and cab corners from brothers truck, are they any good? they were on sale on black fri really cheap. Also sold the old disassembled 454 n bought a rust free og gmc tailgate from texas. i have come up with a plan ( subject to change since i have ADD whenn it comes to cars). its name is identy chrisis. its gonna be a mix of gmc n chevy parts.

Re: 66 gmc

I'm confused about your grill.
Do you have two different GMC grills?
They don't look the same.
Also, do some research on the value of that chrome grill before you get rid of it for a Chevy grill. That chrome GMC grill has some good value.
