Longhornmail, what should I be looking for on this truck? I think he told me it has three tanks? Can I take the one behind the seat out easily? Said he put white wagon wheels on it. being a custom camper equel to cst? Bench seat only?

Lets see...3 tanks, probably the crappy dealer installed ones with the aluminum square doors on the side of the bed. No sending unit, no idea how much gas is in them. I would rather ditch the 2 extra tanks, and keep the one in the cab. (I like getting high on the fumes I guess )
THe Custom Camper is nothing like the CST. The CST includes alot of more plush items, and alot of brightwork...chrome front bumper, chrome wingvent posts...ect. Althoguh, actually, being a '72, it would be Cheyenne instead of CST, and since it is a GMC, it would be a Sierra. The Sierra Grane is the top dog being the same as a cyeyenne Super.
The Camper Special only requires a few items like heavier duty tires, heavy duty shocks and springs. That's all they really are. Chances are, it had more than that though. look for clips of some sort on the bed sides and on the cowl area. Good indication of a camper being on there at one point or another.
Really, the only thing I really ever look at on a Longhorn that isn't a big issue on the other trucks, is inspecting the leaf springs real close. It is not uncommon to have one or two leafs busted in there.

Any chance of you getting me the VIN and model number? I have been trying to find the numbers for the GMC rigs...have not found them documented any where.

Well I get there and its ochre!Ewwwww! Passenger side of the bed is trashed, chrome is crap, weird bumper protector on the front with tow hooks, wires are a mess, he screwed a tape deck from a late 80's early 90,s to the front of the dash through a huge whole cut into it! Speakers scewed to it everywhere even a $hity looin one between the two visors! Besides the one bedside needed the only other body work needed is a small hole in the front part of passenger rocker and bottom rear part of passenger door. The cab is in great condition! front clip too, tailgate! It would make a great truck for some one but for $4000 dollars he can keep it!
