Question what parts are no longer available to get?

I only ask this because my spring on my catch plate snapped so my hood didn't lock down into place.....and I couldn't just replace the spring....the whole unit that sat in the top of the grill had to be removed....I found a really good one at the bone yard and took it home and cleaned it with a wire brush and then treated it with a rust treatment primer...the spring is in excellent condition and should last for 80 or so years.....but I checked all after market places for one and none are available.....what other parts are no longer available?

Third door and rear hatch sill plates for suburbans. Also, rear hatch handle for the suburban lift gate. This is what I would like to have. (Among other things)

I think many people would be surprised at how many parts are still available at the dealers

They make a fiberglass cab, but it is pretty expensive. $4600 is a lot...but it wouldn't rust .

If you had the money you could build a truck from the ground up. It would be better than new ones and with fiberglass last longer than the originals. Thing is is that if I did that it would never go outside!

ochre/saddle interior
Runs well... working on body.
Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend.
Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

Hey isn't there a company already that will build a truck from ground up (67-72) according to your specs? I thought i saw a website for it and i guess they ran them for around 30k or so.... been along time since i saw that website but i was sure of it! Later!
