90 Burb AC problem....

The compressor under the hood runs all the time- I hooked up a test probe to the compressors electrical plug and whenever the ignition is on the compressor has power- even if the heater/ac is turned off. Is there a relay that might have burnt out and failed in the closed position?

Thanks,
Steve

The compressor runs in heat, vent and all the way to the left?
Now the blower will run reguardless of the selection anytime the key is on if it's a AC model. That's normal.

I would have to look at the diagram to be sure but I think that the compressor is tied into the big relay on the box on the passengerside. I think it's green with black stripe. The dohicky on the freon line with two wires is the same circuit so trace that back and see if it goes into that relay.

Thanks for the help. Yeah the compressor runs all the time even when the control are all the way to the left. When i'm under the hood and I plug/unplug the connector to the compressor I can see it engaging. I'll trace the lines and see where they go.
Thanks!
Steve
