What a perfect day for junkyarding!

It was sunny and an absolutely HOT 45 degrees today. You couldn't ask for a better winter day in Minnesota. Went sca-venging today and I found a few things for this truck and that truck. Found 3 throttle controls and forgot a toolbox door on the roof of another truck. The door was junk but the latch mechinism looked good. Hope it is still there when I get back........... You will also see 2 ochre burbs that I can only think of as the 2 that got away. A moment of silence please......PICTURES

i agree

It was rainy here in Idaho, but I did some junkyarding myself, and made out like a bandit. Also bought a Jimmy in my travels for 500 bucks. It was 4x4. I always feel like I am on a treasure hunt when I hit the yards. Maybe I will find a tach, a posi rear end, headliner, am/fm, the list goes on. And now that I am single, (thank you lord), I can spend as much time doing what I love doing. Now, if I could just quit my job, I would be content.

We went junkin Sat. The place we went to was full of 67 to 72's. I found several short wheelbase frames, along with lots of 55 to 57 cars.

Yea, I only wish we had some junkyards like that around my place. Our junkyards are littered with imports and CRAP. Although because we have a few drag strips around there are usually a few built engines in smashed Camaros and Firebirds. We have a few trucks, I just need to get some money in order to buy one. My problem is I hardly ever get worked, can't get another job('cause of winter) and don't have any resources, and live in a subdivision.

Wes, this one has rear A/C. The unit is still in there, but the air deflectors are gone. All the front A/C stuff is gone too. I think the bows are still in there. I know Andy got one of the plastic bows off without breaking it for his burb.

There was a real nice 67 GMC grill I am going to get next time. It has just the smallest defect in the lower left corner. I think it can be smoothed/straightened w/o showing. I just dont remember this many 67's in one place. It seemed like every other truck was a 67 Chev or GMC.

da-burb where is dis yard that has acres like that? It ain't French Lake. It ain't Hickmans, Windy Hill? It can't be a too visited yard with weeds up all over the place like that and not trambled down.

Where abouts is it?

Thanks,
-Roger

I knew I shouldn't have sold my Suburban!! LOL I just didn't have the heart to part it out!! I would still be interested in the rear air, but would need the hoses and all to go with it. (As long as it isn't cracked. I know someone who is using later model deflectors that actually rotate back and forth and look origanal!! That may be the rout that I go. I also need all of the bows that are left over and the chanels that run all the way arround that the head liner sets in. If at all possible I would like the switch that is in the dash along with the little bezel that says rear air.... Could you get a price for me??? Let me know. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
