Looking to upgrade from the factory rochester 2bbl on my stock 307already purchased stock 350 manifold ( I know, not the greatest, but we're woking with a VERY tight budget) Is a 600cfm 4 barrel too much carb for the stock motor and 350 intake?

500 cfm would be enough carb for the 307, but I dont think the 600 would hurt anything.......as long as its not a Holley DP. A o-1850 Holley (vac secondaries), or a 1406 Edelbrock should be fine. either carb would need an adaptor to run on a stock Q jet manifold(I would use a 4 hole adaptor). You could also use an old Q jet......they are 750 cfm, but the air door on the secondaries wont let it be overcarbed. Good luck.....crazy AL

AS long as carb brand dont start with a H you will be fine! i had a 600 Edelbrock on a 305 and it ran great,but go9 for electric choke they are calibrated leaner,i even have a 600 and it runs better than the 750 on my 402.runs like a top,not lean or anything good freeway power,low end.A good working Qjet is a wonderful carb IF it works right,and the throttle bushings are good.

If you want a Holley though i believe i have quite a few 600s in a box,collecting dust and get baked in the hih temps so a regasketing and cleanup would be necessary.think theres some 1850s left,i usually take every one to swapmeets i know theres some 750,780s and a 850dp.

Do you think you might have one of the 650 cfm dual feed holleys with vaccum secondaries? (I think 4150?) It's no hurry, but if you get the chance to look for one I might be interested in it. you can e-mail me car@sonic.net

Rat, what are you asking for the best 600 ya got? Don't forget I'd have to ship it to KY.
