Re: Now, If only we can find……….

I hope some of you are not disappointed. If the pint was not faded, I think it would clean up to a pristine survivor.

Ok, keep in mind that it has been sitting for 12 years and is really filthy.

I think all of the original colors look good on these trucks, but since we will keep this truck as a survivor/original, I wish it would have been any color except light olive. Most of the original paint colors will buff out and shine somewhat, but not this metallic olive.
The interior is the best thing about the burb. With some heavy duty cleaning it should look great.

Our immediate plans are: deep clean\detail, paint wheels w/new tires, put the original front bumper back on (the P.O. had it in storage), and remove the towing bumper, make it mechanically sound.

Very nice! You are right about that color, once it starts to fade to that silverish look, you cant really do anything with it.

Guys, I got to see this burb in person today and it is in amazing condition! All it needs is a wash and detail job. Definitely a rare find!

Sounds like a good plan. Knowing you guys, that will be knocked out in no time.

That truck has found a good home for sure.

Geoff, the CB is an add on and so is the winch. The man that bought it new was a vet and he took the family to Colorado every year so he added the winch when it was new (we got the take off front bumper which is like NOS). It is a 10000 lb Koenig and the daughter said it was probably used 5-6 times. As neat as it is we will not leave it on so we may be interested in selling or trading. Open to any ideas.

Awesome! I love it, and the fact that you will preserve it! Thanks for the pics, finally! haha. It looks like it has the long middle seat, but also a third seat. Is this true?

Re: Now, If only we can find……….

both back seats are short, the third fits inside the wheel tubs and the center is short so you can get to the back.
Thanks for your interest Paul

Re: Now, If only we can find……….

I'm curious to know what your plan is to clean it up. I'd be tempted to take things like to cowl off to get whatever leaves and other items that may have accumulated, and get them out to slow down any rusting.

What's it like under the hood?
