Re: 1950 Five Window Build

OK, here is another update on my A/C compressor mounting issue. The new set up works perfect and is fairly reasonable price wise.

After my first mistake I ended up buying the ICT Billet 551352-3 high mount narrow bay kit. it was $124.95 and it required a mini style Sanden 7176 compressor and the Camaro tensioner.

I did another video on the install and inner fender well comparisons between the old and new bracket. It fits way better and the look of the mini compressor looks a lot better.

Now I can get back to more assembly

Does this still use the truck balancer?

A good crossthread is better than Loctite any day.

Life is not about what you have, but who you have to share it with.

Yes, just make sure you use the 551352-3, that is the one for a truck balancer. The only thing you will need to change is the truck belt Tensioner to a 98-02 Camaro Belt Tensioner (Gates # 38195).

Their site calls for two different size belt depending on the alternator. I had a stock alternator so I thought it would be the smaller belt, WRONG, it was the lager 1080K6 belt.
