Fuel Pump relay in '94 S-10 Blazer?

I think my dads fuel pump went out. He wants to check the fuel pump relay before we do the pump. We already checked all the fuses they were good. Any other ideas? I am wondering where exactly we should look for the relay at? Thanks in advance

Re: Fuel Pump relay in '94 S-10 Blazer?

94 would be the first gen, or square body IIRC.... I'm 99% positive it's one of the two relays on the upper firewall close to the brake booster. (it has been 6 or 7 years since I messed with the relay on one)
BTW... have fun with that job. The connections that you need to get to on the fuel lines, are on top of the tank, and they are on hardlines.
Yeah... another one of GM's great ideas. They loaded the poS-10 with LOTS of great ideas.

'94 is actually a 2nd gen but Im not sure where the relay is. On my '96 its in the back of the glove box. Open the glove box & see if there is a removable cover in there. Going through the same thing on my '96 right now...

Re: Fuel Pump relay in '94 S-10 Blazer?

Relay is on the left then the horn then the fog lights on the right (if equipped)
hope that helps.

Re: Fuel Pump relay in '94 S-10 Blazer?

The fuel pump relay is mounted under the hood, just to the right above the brake booster...there are 2 the same side by side, you can try switching them to test if it will work,It may be the pump itseld and you have to drop the tank to change that.

One more thing to check,if you have an oil leak at the oil pressure switch located by the distributor, this can cause the fuel pump not to run, All gm injected motors have a run safe built in,if oil pressure drops below 7 psi,it will shut down the fuel must circuit.

I have worked on these 92-95 CPI blazers for years...I just biult a 93 S10 with the 4.3 "W" motor in is, see pics of 93 S10 Vortec Build "w" on here.

Take a block of wood and smack the bottom of fuel tank, then listen to see if the pump runs then,if it does change the pump. And dont go aftermarket with the CPI pump, go a/c delco..unless you want low power and have to do it twice, the aftermarket pumps are universal , this needs 67 psi to open the injector up..Done to many and know its no fun to drop the tank 1 time let alone 2 ,3 ,4 you get it...

Re: Fuel Pump relay in '94 S-10 Blazer?

^^^this guy is 100% correct. I've had to put a fuelpump in almost every blazer that I've had (7) and it is a real pain.
