Proportioning valve placement

Hey I'm just checking to see where everybody is placing their proportioning valve on a C10 pickup with disc front drum back brakes I'm looking for some ideas any input would be much appreciated

The original mounting should be a bracket attached to the booster, right next to the master cylinder.

My truck is almost 100% original, but it's not the best pic because I took this a few days ago, focused on the valve itself, not the mounting. But those are all original brake lines.

I’ve considered mounting mine to the frame just below the master.
Really, it can go just about anywhere

As an FYI...
If the original truck was a drum/drum system, the original valve block near the master cylinder is not a proportioning valve...its a simple brake circuit valve to alert of a hydraulic circuit leak.

Most proportioning valves are located close to the master, mainly to keep the pipe layout simpler.

Most square body trucks have their prop valves located on the front chassis cross member...making it difficult to access for us old guys!

Hey really appreciate the feedback to clarify things I have a 67 C10 I changed the front disc drum in the back will wear of metering block the proportioning valve difference.
Was just wondering if placing the proportioning valve in a different spot would make it easier to Plum the front brakes since each caliper gets a line to itself whereas the back gets one line to the T & T's off.
Just trying to see if anybody had any need ideas out there if placement for ease of rePlumbing the lines.

Ha...yah hear ya Aussiein NC. It was a lot easier crawling around these things when I was 18.
How long have you been playing with electricity wilkin250r?

Use the '73-up brake lines and under the radiator mounting location for the Combination Valve. It's a bolt-up conversion with salvaged hard lines and direct replacement square body flex lines.

Just did this on the last truck , down on the frame. Didn't make anything easier ,I just didn't need to see it.

Went with the stock look and set up on mine. Wasn't real sure if the original proportioning valve was good, took awhile to bleed system but brakes work well now. I didn't have the tool that service manual said was necessary to hold prop valve open during bleeding process, but they bled ok, nice firm brake pedal.
