Lowered no more

After driving my truck up and down our rough dirt road for 6 months I decided to raise my truck back up to stock height. Man, I never dreamed new springs would make it ride so much better, and I think I like it better now that its up in the air again What do y'all think?

Hey Mean Gene, how much and HOW was it lowered before? Heated, cut coils, or actual replacement springs? All four coils or coils and leaves?

I cut one coil off the front, and used longer U-bolts and blocks out back. Gave it about a 3/4 inch drop.

I cant get the new pic to load???

Verify it for me....3/4 inch drop or 3-inch/4-inch drop....(surely not a three-quarter inch drop)

Sorry Derek, mine has coil. If you want to lower yours with leafs I think the best way is to go with shackles. Flipping the rear will give you too much drop (6 inches) I believe.

Personally, I loved the way your truck looked dropped, but there's no accounting for taste, right? Either way, it's a sweet truck

I have to go with the dropped look, but then again I am a little biased......
Either way, it's a nice truck.........Jerry

I like the look of your truck the way it is now, but then again I am not a huge fan of lowered trucks... but as 68 stepside said either way that is one nice truck

Well, here's one guy that likes it better out of the weeds. Sharp truck!

Drops are for '50 Merc's and the likes...but then, that's just my humble opinion...

Longer ones are the U-bolts that attach the rear to the trailing arms, I took my stock ones off and had a machine shop make some like them but 4 inches longer. Then I had some aluminum 4 inch blocks made to go under the rear.

Here's a pic of the long ones.

I like the new, return look Gene, but I like stock height the best. It is much more useful for a driver as far as I am concernd and the ride is much better.

Nah, I did'nt throw the old stuff away, but I doubt I will get rid of it because a week from now I might want it low again :p .

Anyways, all I did to lower it was cut 1 coil off the front and have some U-bolts and blocks made. I did it for less it 20 bucks.

No, I dont have any pics with them installed. The trailing arms were approx. 4 inches from the ground but I never dragged them on anything.
