Vortec Max or DMax guys here?

I rarely see much diesel truck discussion here. I know some of you guys have them. I am aware there are other forums tailored to all types of diesels, just wondering why there isn't much discussion here.
Maybe a designated diesel forum is needed here.
Also a few years back a coworker bought a Z71 Chevy crew cab with 6Lt engine. On the doors were Vortec Max decals. Looked like factory to me. I've only seen a couple of these. Anything to them? Most likely just a decal package? I intended to try to buy it from him but he traded it off before I got a chance. I remember he said it was REAL thirsty though he does have a large foot.

The vortec max was the only way to get a 6.0 in a half ton truck.

That's about it.
