New 56 GMC from So Cal

I am new to this site. I found it doing a google search and stumbled across cal58's project. Wow, what a project. My own project is a 1956 GMC 150. I am new to the truck world. I have a few Mach One's and a 59 Skyliner and a couple of other projects. As soon as I got this truck it became one of my favorites. It will need some paint soon though as it was pink (almost white) when I bought it. My daughters have convinced me to keep it this way so far. I plan on painting it after all mods are done. In the meantime I will have to grin and bare it. The truck has 502 GM crate motor with a TH350 and a Camaro front clip. It is lowered but I will be doing some suspension mods. I plan on bagging it and using a either a four link or trailing arm suspension in the rear. The dash is smoothed except for the glovebox and it has a stainless tank under the bed. I am also considering a 700r4. The firewall is smooth and the master and booster are mounted to the frame. It has a tilt column etc... Here are a couple of photos and I will post more as I go. I am learning as I go but this is fun. Thanks for the great site.

Re: New 56 GMC from So Cal

That is true FleetsidePaul. That will have to change but I am not ready for paint yet. I am getting there though. Where in So Cal are you?
Here are a couple of more photos as well. I will be cleaning the engine area and dressing up the engine as well. I am going to wait until I have the front end off though. I need to address the radiator as well. I plan on getting a nice alumunim radiator and I would love to find or make a setup like the one for the tri fives. The progress is dependant on time and money. I have a teenage daughter and younger daughter so... They both play travel sports so the free weekends vary depending on the time of the year.
