It's the same emblem 68-72, here's one with the V6, which I believe the do not reproduce. The V8 ones are.

Re: What badges were on 68 jimmy

That's the one for base trim 305 V6. It would have V-Eight with either engine and for 250 it was blank. I can't picture the 292 emblem, it was an option. Didn't '68s only show engine or were there Custom and Super Custom badges, like '69-up?

I found this thread and I have another question. Did '68 GMCs use the script Custom Camper emblems on the door, like late years? We know '66 through '68 Chevys had their own badge 'in place of' the Bowtie20.

'68s have L6 292 on SPID as L25. No stinkin' badges.
We don' need no steenkin badges...

Yes, 3rd character in the VIN should be a 3.

68 GMC Custom Campers had the script over the door handle (like a 72 Chev), not the 66-68 Chev Custom Camper emblem.

Re: What badges were on 68 jimmy

Ok, that's what I needed to know. '68 GMC was first use of that emblem. The holes in the door shown previously show that. It's odd the 292 option was overlooked for an emblem. The others weren't specific, just V-Six or V-Eight when it could be 305/351 or 307/327. Should have said "BIG-Six"

I pulled a set of custom camper badges off the doors of a 68 gmc last month at a junkyard, so yes they did

Re: What badges were on 68 jimmy

I guess you could say '72 Chevys got GMC Custom Camper scripts. I never thought of it that way, but...
