Random things in engine bay

Quick question... Can anyone id these random relays or sensors in my engine bay? There are two that sit front and rear of my carb and one that sits up by the heater box

I will flip your pictures for you. What size truck is this? The carb pieces almost look like governor parts.

Re: Random things in engine bay

Transmission Controlled Spark is a system that limits vacuum advance until the engine is warmed up and the transmission is in high gear. It appears to have been already bypassed, so you could just take the wires, hoses and solenoids off and throw them away. They were designed to limit hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen emissions back in the early '70s SMOG days. The system also provided for faster warm-up of the engine for better fuel economy.

The solenoid at the top of picture #2 is not part of the TCS. It is used to hold the throttle open when the engine is running, and allows the throttle to completely close when the engine is turned off, to avoid dieseling.

Re: Random things in engine bay

So this is with everything hooked back up... can I run a line from the distributor straight to one of these vacuum ports on the carb for advance? If so which one on the carb?
