3/4 Ton rear on K/10 Suburban?

I have a '67 K/10 Suburban. It's been sitting for some years. Six years ago I cannibalized the 12-Bolt Corp 3.73 Rear w/Auburn Posi and Moser axles off it to put on my '71 GMC Jimmy K/1500. The '67 rear fit on the '71, but I couldn't get the blown out [12-Bolt Corp 3.73 Eaton [factory] Posi Rear to fit on the Sub.
I'm wondering if I can fit a 14-Bolt 3.73 [non-posi] onto the Sub's springs?
Can I get 6 Lug axles made to fit a 14 Bolt? I saw a '74 14 Bolt in the PHX craigslist for not a lot of money.

a 14bolt out of a 73 up one ton has the correct spring pad width to bolt right up (40 inch) while a 3/4 ton will have wider pads at 42.5 inches. No six lug conversions that I am aware of though

You can use a semi floater 14 bolt with six lugs which is stronger than a 12 or 10 bolt but not a full floating axle. Not sure what the spring pad widths are on the semi floater are.

As far as I'm aware, anything half or three quarter ton is 42.5" spring perch width after 1973.

If I may so as ask, what are you planning on doing with the suburban? A 10 or 12 bolt is strong enough for a regular driver.

The original idea for the rebuild was as a tow rig for 20' Argosy [by Airstream] trailer. Sold the trailer. It has a 454/TH350/NP205/[-12-Bolt 3.73 Auburn Posi]. BBC had an engine fire. Needed rebuild. (Carb burn really.)
It was totalled by Farmers Insurance. Now I have the salvage title.
Looking at a new engine [diesel, 383, or turbo 292 ?], new tranny [700R4?] rebuild xfer case. Needs new rear axle since I stole the only good part that was on it for my GMC -- which I use for work.
A machinist I use, has a 7.4LS/ 4L8E for about $2700, but I'm afraid of the new school computerized stuff.
Maybe I'll get it running with a 292, as a light bomber. Hate to see it deteriorate.
Can Moser custom cut 6 lug axles for a 14 bolt free floater?

Like RedRoad mentioned, Gm did make a 6 lug version of the 14b semi float for the light duty three quarter tons, though the spring perch width is still going to be 42.5" and I do not know if the parts are the same as the 8 lug variant. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/tr...rs-and-locker/

I though I read somewhere that you couldn't convert a full float to a 6 lug, I think the hubs are too big.

I guess that's what I needed to know, thanks.
It's all a lot simpler if I get the GMC's original 12 Bolt w/Eaton Posi rebuilt, and put it back on the Jimmy. Then the Sub get's it's own rearend back.

Just take the axles to a good machine shop and they can redrill them to a 6 lug pattern.

Some shops won't do it because one of the holes overlaps an existing hole and the existing hole has to be welded up. You wouldn't think it would be a big problem but I guess some of the shops are gun-shy because of the lawsuit mind set in this country these days....

Moser will cut axles to any configuration you order. But if my 6-Lug wheels won't fit the 3/4 T drum or rear hubs, then it's pointless.
