Re: 58 3600 build

I'll try to post pics today I started buy shorting the frame to a 6ft box removed the 14 bolt got a 10bolt 8.6 disc brake for replacement flipped the rear and cnotched the frame I have since removed springs in favor of a Danny's customs 4 bar with coil overs, I am installing the Muncie back in the truck I plucked the sb out in favor of a 454 I have at a valley machine shop in old forge pa , motor consist of 7.5 slugs procomp heads and a dyers 671. I tried to retain the solid I beam front axle but could get ride height I wanted so I found a guy on cl selling parts off a 93 vette with 9100 miles I grabbed the front clip for 400 and adapted the front frame to accept the vette crossmember , I then got a idiot style colum for1/3 of the price made a floor plate and shortened the dash mount and installed it using the vette alum shaft topped with a 61 impala flight deck wheel. Wheels on the truck are from cl there coys c5 polished 18x7 and 20x8.5

6.7l, I still can not believe HAMB banned you. Harrisburg is only north of me by a 1/2 hr. Are you in PA? Looks like a great project.

Looking good. Nice stance. I imagine when the engine trans is in it will get a little lower.

Looks like you got your ride height figured out. Very nice indeed. Good luck the rest of the way.

Re: 58 3600 build

do show us your darth vader welding helmet since your welding with a light sabre

since your still on springs in back...
your rear spring mount carries half the weight of the rear suspension
your c-notch just cut half the frame out (as did mine)
i welded reinforcing over my c-notch to replace some of the lost strength

yours

mine

Re: 58 3600 build

sorry guys ive been quite bussy the lats few months between heat and humity making me do nothing and putting a truck back on the road to drive that i borrowed a motor trans and steering from 4 yrs ago i havent got much done , i have been however driving the 68 c10 396/air i bought on nice days , i the last week i started going again on the truck motor is back from shop i got it mockup mounted , had to remove firewall to get it in thou, i'm not going to be able to use the under floor brake set up so i ordered a wilwood dual master pedal setup, clutch will probably be converted to the wilwood hydo too, i have headers ordered should be here this week 55-59 chevy hooker comp copys 2" primary 3.5 collectors so im kind of on hold till they show up onnce i get them fit ill get pedals figured out firwall back togther and yank the motor and reinforce the mounts.

i aslo got the coilovers in and mounted in all corners ill have to get some pics for you guys . this was my biggist hold up i waited over 2 months for them

and to anwser the wheel question they are coys c5 18x7 20x8.5
