Bruce is doing a top job Kim....my wife and myself are really happy with the way he is doing his work....

Although i am a little bit miffed at how much work the wings have created....hindsight tells me i should have mebbe replaced them with new ones...how ever getting them over from the USA would have taken an age and i would have been hammered by our nice customs folk.....

At least doing it this way means i have more pennies for other goodies and toys at a later date

Once i have the truck back up here in Scotland,i intend using her while i squirrel away the moolah for power steering, power brakes and at some point in the future i want to change all the leaf springs,so i know ive got good new kit under us while we enjoy the truck........

Some thing i will have to look into is a different steering wheel,as ours has a horrible tatty one on there at the moment......all in good time though..

Re: A Scottish 55 Big back window

new parts would have required fitting and body work to get them to look right.
your fenders really aren't that bad, rust free in my eyes; however these were work trucks.
no one worried about the dings and dents that accumulated over the years.
what's probably bugging you is the amount of money your paying to get the body paint ready.

that's why most of us are diy types, we can't afford it either
it is looking good

Re: A Scottish 55 Big back window

My painter needed a break from filling and blocking so he got the fuel tank in....although it is going to need some fettling to get the exhaust clearance......

Fits in there nice except for the tight corner at the exhaust.

Re: A Scottish 55 Big back window

looks good whiskeymaker, nice to see you kept the side mounted spare tire
just a suggestion... fill and smooth that seam inside the spare tire cutout
it does show and looks a lot better smoothed out

Although, having just spoken to my painter he wants to kill me for following your suggestion and you for suggesting it

Although he agrees, it will look a lot better filled n smoothed.

So,with the idea from Ogre ^^^^^^^^^^(thanks for the idea Ogre) i tentatively approached Bruce(my painter) with said idea....and i waited for the swearing and abuse to begin..............

As the idea meant even MOOOOOOORE filling n sanding on the wheel well of the rear wing....keeping in mind Bruce had worked hard to get it in primer already......

Anyhow after discussing the idea with Bruce and him agreeing it would make the wing/truck look better he went for it.......

So we now have a filled n smooth wheel well on da rear wing and it's gonna look sweet as fook once painted

Our thanks to you Bruce( as i know you pop in here to read up),for going that extra bit for us.....even more so,knowing how much you have enjoyed filling n sanding on our Chevy
