Re: found another 65

Nice Find! all I ever find are - NO I'm going to fix it up SOMEDAY trucks. In fact Saturday I came across a 65 short Fleet with a Big Back Window sitting in weeds behind a guy's House. I knocked on the door and he came out. We talked a little and I asked him if he would be interested in selling the Truck. OH NO my son gets it when I'm gone he says. I said well if he is he better get to work because there isn't going to be much left but Rust!

I have a theory on that. They keep em because people actually come by and talk to them. Without it . . .
I mean come on you know darn well these guys aren't going to "fix it up someday"

The trans is likely slipping because it looks to me like the TV cable is not connected correctly. It is absolutely critical that the TV cable is connected with the correct geometry and that the line pressures are in spec in all gears. otherwise the trans will only last a short time.

Good find. Put a bowtie overdrives tv setup in it when you have it rebuilt and drive the wheels off it.

Re: found another 65

Ok got the transmission repaired. Third gear clutches were gone. The shop installed new clutches. I have the transmission back in the truck and am now replacing the lower ball joints. Then next week I am going to take it to the transmission shop and let the guy adjust the tv cable. I have no idea how to do this so I am going to let him.
